TLF Students Excel

Categories: News

During 2012 high school graduation ceremonies, a number of TLF students received special recognition. Marcus Alvarez (left), Luke Strother (middle) and Ben Bode (right) each graduated valedictorian of their class. Marcus graduated from Nimitz High School and will continue his studies at Stanford University in the fall. Luke Strother, W.T. White High School, and Ben Bode, Jefferson High School, will both be attending Texas A&M. Furthermore, Jordan Prasifka (not pictured) graduated salutatorian from Conrad High School and will attend UT Arlington.

All of our students have worked diligently and applied for many scholarships. Stephanie Eyocko applied for a record number of scholarships – 75! Along with receiving several local scholarships, Stephanie, as well as Marcus Alvarez, is a recipient of a Dell Scholarship award. Marcus was also awarded a Gates Foundation scholarship. The list of scholarships which TLF students have received continues to expand each day as a reflection of their focus and determination to go to college.

Congratulations to the class of 2012!
