CHILDREN’s EDUCATION FUND (CEF) SCHOOL CHOICE
Children’s Education Fund (CEF) awards scholarships to low-income families to give them a voice in the education of their children. The funding allows parents to send their children to the private school of their choice including high-quality charter schools. CEF has partnered with the Children’s Scholarship Fund of New York, founded by John Walton of the Walton Family Foundation. Since its inception in 1994, over $8 million in tuition assistance has been distributed to low- income families providing 7000 children with opportunities to receive a quality education.
A brighter future for Dallas children
Tuition assistance and scholarships are traditionally reserved for the college level, but the early years are the most important of a child’s education. A quality education can break the cycle of poverty, but scholarships to prestigious universities are of no help to children who are shortchanged early in their academic careers.
The children pictured here are attending schools their parents selected with help from the CEF. They are some of the more than 500 economically disadvantaged children already receiving tuition assistance thanks to support from the Dallas community. But more families apply for help every day. Our challenge is to triple CEF enrollment by taking full advantage of the CSF matching grant.
You can help us help more low-income Dallas children join those on the road to a brighter future while getting a 100% match on your charitable investment. Dallas Children’s Education Fund: An Education Scholarship program of the Today Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization
