Our Work in Conservation
The Today Foundation, is a champion of conservation and education. The Collins Academy, Port Jefferson Art, History and Nature Center and the Caddo Lake Restoration Project, attest to the foundation’s commitment to conservation. These unique education programs teach students how to conserve, preserve, and value nature’s habitat which is so vital to a thriving community. Students and community members of all ages engage in ‘hands-on’ experiences with Texas’ natural habitat to learn the value the habitat has on everyday life.
The Collins Academy

The Academy is an innovative educational center that partners with a variety of quality educational organizations, research centers and universities to create hands-on STEM+ Environment learning opportunities. Collaborative projects teach students and adults the importance of environmental conservation and historic preservation especially how to revitalize and sustain viable communities using local resources.
Port Jefferson History and Nature Center

The Port Jefferson History & Nature Center is a hands-on, outdoor learning center and environmental park promoting habitat restoration along the historic riverfront in Jefferson, Texas. Educational programs, activities, and outreach projects demonstrate the importance of history and nature to students, families, and communities.
Caddo Lake Paddlefish Restoration

The Paddlefish Project is an innovative science enrichment program that connects schools with scientists conducting special studies related to the reintroduction of the American Paddlefish, Polyodon spathula, to Big Cypress Bayou and Caddo Lake in East Texas.
